Progression Information

Games Development Pre-requisites

The first year of the Games Development B.Sc. has a specialist module, Games Concepts (CO1301). This is normally a pre-requisite for the second year games modules. So, in order to progress onto the second year of Games Development from a different route you must complete an extra piece of work.

Required Work

The work has been placed inside a folder for the Entertainment Computing module. The work involves programming using the TL-Engine. The TL-Engine is a programming environment that allows students to develop 3D game content. You will need a working knowledge of this environment in the 2nd year. Visit the TL-Engine downloads page for a complete set of documents and appendices. Before you can complete the given worksheet you will need to download the TL-Engine and complete the introductory worksheet.

Feel free to talk to us about the degree or the progression work.

Before starting this work, ensure that you have advised the department of your intent to progress onto the Games Development degree. After you have in-principle agreement, submit your completed work to either Gareth Bellaby or Laurent Noel - we can be found in CM027. Submissions should be made at the very latest by 22/8/08, but would be preferred much before this date.
